Vita Coco:
Stupidly Simple.

After helping Vita Coco launch several successful smaller campaigns, Vita Coco came to us looking to go big with their first ever global campaign. Having broken into the market as the natural alternative to artificial drinks peddled by big beverage™, they came to go big, without going bland.

The end result was, well, Stupidly Simple.

The campaign evolved Vita Coco’s voice, leaving behind the bikini jokes for a simple, slightly absurd sense of wit. We paired this with a new visual language that felt as simple as our copy, using hand-painted letters and textures so that our aesthetic remained simple without feeling generic.

Extending The Campaign:

“Rejected Billboards” Social Campaign:

High Times Partnership:

Simplivision:

To extend the campaign, we built Simplivision™ , a custom-built virtual reality tower optical that transformed the locale it was in into a far more refreshing view. We built over a dozen to travel to pop-up events all over the country.

Neat Nerd Note:
Building the Simplivision posed a unique challenge, as most existing VR hardware at the time was unable to withstand the heat of a typical summer day, even with fans. We looked to unconventional methods and ended up using an open-source VR application that could run off of an Android phone.

The next challenge was finding a phone that could sustain high CPU loads for hours at a time without throttling. After researching and testing countless models, we ended up finding it in an unlikely source: a 4th generation Samsung Galaxy Note, which significantly outperformed more modern phones.
